We begin today with intros to the vendors of the mind.body.soul holiday market. Check daily for the latest news and the updated vendors!! First up is Katrin Reifeiss Designs, I first met Katrin at a market and found her choice of color and tie die technique very unique. Here’s a brief Q & A:
mbs: What inspires your tie dye forms, their are very unique…
KR: The process itself. Each time I dye something, the pattern never comes out the same twice and that is what I find so exciting.
mbs: How does color affect a design, I find you’re color choices always work in harmony with the designs.
KR: Color does affect the pattern. There are certain patterns that I just love in certain colors because they seem to have an affinity for one another, like an energy together, that just works so well while other colors just look flat and don’t have the same spark when dyed in the same pattern.
mbs: What special tie dye gift will Katrin Reifeiss Designs be offering at the mbs holiday market?
KR: I will be offering these great scarves that come as a set of three in a hand dyed silk bag. One of the sets I will be selling, 100% of the net profit will be donated to The Silk Lab Project in Siem Reap, Cambodia, a non-for-profit that helps to better children and women’s lives.
